Hello, Several servers are configured to use NetApp Version 9.9.1P2 as a storage backend. Each server is connected using IPV6 mgmt/data LIFs to its own SVM. Each server deployed Trident CSI to communicate with its own SVM. These configurations have been working fine without any issues for several months. Suddenly, the IPV6 connection got dropped, and the backend appeared offline from the server side: tridentctl get backends -n trident +-------------+----------------+--------------------------------------+---------+------------+---------+ | NAME | STORAGE DRIVER | UUID | STATE | USER-STATE | VOLUMES | +-------------+----------------+--------------------------------------+---------+------------+---------+ | nas-backend | ontap-nas | 718e796c-015a-43e4-9008-2186a2fc006c | offline | normal | 0 | +-------------+----------------+--------------------------------------+---------+------------+---------+ SVMs with IPV4 mgmt/data LIFs work fine. Only IPV6 is not working. I can ping the SVM's LIFs gateway IPV6 address but not the mgmt LIF nor the data LIF. IPv6 is enabled on both cluster nodes: netapp-cluster-001::> network options ipv6 show IPv6 Enabled: true Router Advertisement (RA) Processing Enabled: true From trident logs: time="2025-04-24T06:47:15Z" level=error msg="Could not initialize storage driver." crdControllerEvent=add error="error initializing ontap-nas driver; could not create Data ONTAP API client: error creating ONTAP API client: error reading SVM details: Post \"https://[xxxx:xxxx:xxx::2]/servlets/netapp.servlets.admin.XMLrequest_filer\": dial tcp [xxxx:xxxx:xxx::x]:443: connect: no route to host" time="2025-04-25T01:16:53Z" level=error msg="API invocation failed. Post \"https://[xxxx:xxxx:xxx::2]/servlets/netapp.servlets.admin.XMLrequest_filer\": context deadline exceeded (Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers)" Any idea what caused the IPV6 connectivity to stop working. Thank you Yosief G

I followed advise and went to Discord. It is a horrible interface, and worse in searching for issues or answers. It is nice that response is immediate, from appropriate NetApp people, that is its major feature. Has any thought been given to upgrading the Community to Discourse? I think it may be a way to combine the two separate forums in to one reasonably usable interface. Just a thought.

I have an application support group that does not trust NetApp snapshots. At some point in the past, with an older version of OnTap, snapshots were failing. So now the application support team insists on receiving a daily E-Mail that verifies that snapshots did indeed run during the evening. I only need to do this with small subset of the total volumes on my system. I do have an AIQUM server, and I see that there are several reports that show how much space the snapshots are using and the total number of snapshots per volume. But I do not see a report that lists the snapshot files by name with the date/time the snapshot was created. I am using OnTap v9.12 but I will upgrade to v9.15 soon. What is the easiest to get this report?

We are migrating from DC A to DC B, currently we have configured SVM DR b/w 2 FAS systems in DC A and 1 AFF system in DC B. I want to know when I break the snapmirror and bring the netapp systems in site A down and the one in site B becomes RW, what all changes are needed to be made from the windows and unix servers so that they point to the cluster in site B.

Hi Experts, Starting with version 17.1, E-series SANtricity provides secure erasure of disk data. I want to know what the specific operation of this function is and how to safely erase data? Is there a difference in the way it is implemented compared to ONTAP's Sanitize function? Many Thanks. Chenhui
